At Abandoned Cart Recover, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use our website, WooCommerce plugin, or services.

We offer a WooCommerce plugin that helps online stores recover abandoned carts. The plugin captures cart data on the store’s site and securely sends it to our central application (built on Laravel) for processing, storage, and automated recovery actions.

1. Who We Are

  • Data Controller: Abandoned Cart Recover.
  • For store owners using our plugin: You are the data controller for customer data; we act as your data processor.
  • Contact us for privacy questions: [[email protected]] or via our contact form.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect data in two main ways:

a. From Our Website Visitors

  • Comments, contact forms: Name, email, website, IP address.
  • Analytics: Anonymized usage data (via [Google Analytics with anonymization]).

b. From WooCommerce Stores Using Our Plugin (Abandoned Cart Data) When a store installs our free/pro plugin:

  • For logged-in customers: Name, email, phone, cart contents (products, quantities, prices), cart total, IP address, timestamps.
  • For guest users: Email (captured via checkout fields or early capture), cart contents, IP address, timestamps.

We do not collect payment details (handled by WooCommerce gateways).

  • Website: Directly via forms, automatically via cookies/logs.
  • Plugin: The WordPress plugin captures data on the store’s server and securely transmits it to our application via encrypted API calls when a cart is deemed abandoned.

4. Purposes and Lawful Basis

We process data for:

  • Providing the service: Storing carts, sending recovery emails with one-click links/coupons, generating analytics/reports (legitimate interests/contract fulfillment).
  • Improving our service: Aggregated/anonymized analytics.
  • Legal obligations: Fraud prevention, dispute resolution.

For recovery emails: Based on legitimate interests (recovering potential sales for stores). We include easy unsubscribe/opt-out in every email.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Stored on secure servers in EU.
  • Retention: Abandoned cart data kept for until recovered/deleted.
  • Security: Encryption in transit/rest, access controls, regular audits. No system is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard measures.

6. Data Sharing

  • No selling of data.
  • Legal: If required by law.

We can provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for store owners upon request.
